Home Of Accused Murderer Terry Lee McKinney Burns In Cedar Bluff On Friday

McKinneyFire4The home of accused killer Terry Lee McKinney burned to the ground on Friday night on Rocky Ford Point Road in Cedar Bluff.

Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Shawn Rogers told WEIS Radio News that his department along with the Centre and Gaylesville Departments were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.

Chief Rogers said that firefighters arrived on the scene to find the home already fully engulfed in flames. Suppression efforts were extremely difficult due to the home being a multi-story structure, the top story had already collapsed prior to firefighters arriving on the scene.

It took firefighters well over an hour to finally bring the blaze under control, the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

Terry Lee McKinney remains behind bars on charges of Capital Murder for killing  Leroy Pete Foster and then scattering his body parts along County Road 82 in Cedar Bluff back on March of 2015.

According to the Cherokee County Circuits Clerks Office, McKinney is scheduled to appear in court on March 1st at 9:00 a.m. for a bond reduction hearing. What, if any effect this most recent incident will have on that hearing remains to be seen.

This continues to be a developing story, stay with WEIS Radio News for additional information.
