Honda Announces $54.8 Million Expansion for Lincoln Plant; Unveils New 2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan

The new 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan was unveiled this week at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama.

Honda has announced yet another expansion at its Talladega County factory, injecting some $54.8 million into the plant, hot on the heels of last year’s $85 million dollar boost.

Last year’s expansion added to their Line 1 operations; that addition is expected to open in August of this year (2018) and the latest move will add more than 50,000 square feet to the Line 2 operations with that project expected to be finished by 2021.

Honda Manufacturing of Alabama provides employment to more than 4,500 people and has invested more than $2.6 billion in its plant which produces more than 340,000 vehicles and engines on an annual basis.

Since March 2017 Alabama has announced seven vehicle production projects totaling more than 5,400 jobs and encompassing more than $3.3 billion in investments.  Over the space of one year, all of Alabama’s major auto plants have announced expansions – as well as Mazda and Toyota announcing that a $1.6 billion auto plant will be built in Huntsville.
