A Wednesday afternoon fire in Albertville sent one person to the hospital.
According to WAFF TV48 the homeowner smelled smoke and pulled a friend who had been asleep on the couch, out of the home.
The visitor was taken by ambulance to Marshall Medical Center, and reportedly flown from there to another hospital.
The homeowner stated that he thought the fire, which started around 4:30pm, was started by a cigarette.
