A local business is getting ready for a big move in the New Year.

Howard’s Jewelers will be relocating from the Cherokee Plaza Shopping Center to a brand new building next to Jack’s on the Chesnut Bypass.

Owner Grant Ratliff recently gave WEIS Radio news a tour of the new building, which features a diamond viewing room.

Ratliff says local companies provided the materials and manpower for the construction project.

The new building also features 24-hundred square feet of showroom space, a 43-thousand pound bank vault and a laser room for jewelry repair.

Ratliff is the only Laser Certified Master Jeweler in the State of Alabama.

He thanked Mayor Tony Wilkie and the City of Centre for their assistance.

Ratliff, who also thanked Union State Bank for their help in financing the project, says he hopes to be in the new building shortly after the first of the year.
