Funeral service for Hugh Allen Kerr, 82, of Piedmont will be Wednesday,

April 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Pollard, Rev. Joe Wickner and Rev. John Redding officiating

Burial with Fireman’s Honors will follow at Gnatville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until time of service.

Mr. Kerr passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eloise Kerr of Piedmont; two sons, Philip “Bit” Kerr (Amy) of Piedmont and Randall Kerr (Sherry) of Weaver; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Kerr and Gerald Kerr (Faye), all of Centre and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kerr was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He was a member of Unity Hill Baptist Church in Centre and was retired from Union Foundry. He was also a member of the Mt. Weisner Volunteer Fire Department with 40 years of dedicated service.

Mr. Kerr enjoyed fishing and hunting and was always there to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norvel and Sarah Lou Kerr, one sister and five brothers.
