Hurricane Sally Expected To Dump Several Inches Of Rain Across Northeast Alabama

OVERVIEW: Hurricane Sally is now forecast to make landfall near/along the
MS coast late Tuesday or early Wednesday. The system is expected to curve
northeast and move across Central Alabama late Wednesday through Thursday.
CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS FORECAST: Slight increase in winds & slight decrease
in rainfall totals. Added counties to Flash Flood Watch

* Where: Southwest Central AL
* What: Sustained 20-30mph, gusts 40mph
* Breezy elsewhere

TORNADO: 
* When: Wednesday afternoon/evening
* Where: Far south Central AL
* What: Marginal risk for a few brief tornadoes

FLOODING: 
* When: Wednesday through Thursday
* Where: Highest totals roughly between I-59 and I-85.
* What: Rainfall totals of 4"-9" with locally higher amounts. Significant
flash flooding possible. Flash Flood Watch in effect.  
* River flooding risk for some area rivers.
