Local long term care community offers enriching engagement for those 45 and over

Centre, AL

– A Health Fair focusing on improving quality of life in Cherokee County kicks off this Thursday, October 25 from 9a-Noon and Cherokee County Health and Rehab is leading the way by hosting this event and starting our Monthly Community Initiative.

This is the 1st of many events that will be held in our Education Building that focuses solely on Cherokee County and its people.

Improving Quality of Life in Cherokee County and focusing on this area has allowed CCHRC to bring along 40 local vendors who will be offering information and giveaways on services they provide. These Vendors include a variety of Medical Businesses, local clubs initiatives and service based businesses.

We will have approximately $1000.00 in door prizes that include gift cards, gift baskets and other items.

Topics included in our speaking series during the Health Fair include:

  • Career Change Later in Life, 9:10am, Ms. Brenda Bartley of Bartley Realty
  • Dementia Care and Caregivers 9:35 Ms. Phronsie Owens PHCC
  • Care of the Open Heart Patient 10:05 Ms. Telena Cole of Redmond Regional Medical Center
  • Navigating Health Insurance for Seniors 10:35 Ms. Penny Cochran CCHRC
  • Take more Interest in Your Income, 10:55 Mr. Bodie More of Edward Jones
  • Featured Speaker, 11:20 Mr. Fred Hunter of Absolutely Alabama

 

“We encourage members of the community to come visit Cherokee County Health and  Rehab and Cherokee Village Assisted Living during our Health Fair, said Mr. Brad  Hinton, Administrator of CCHRC. “Engaging with seniors can be a rewarding experience, and our residents will greatly appreciate the additional companionship and conversation.”
