Author David Hartline is working with the Daughters of the American Revolution, to update, and expand – their veteran’s registry book for Cherokee County.

He told us, that only 400 of the more than 2,200 veterans from Cherokee County are listed in the current edition of the registry.

Hartline is a Vietnam veteran and is perhaps best known for his best-selling book, entitled “What a Soldier Gives”.  He currently serves as Vice-Commander for the American Legion Department of Alabama, and for many years he has been an advocate for veteran’s rights, and has made it his mission in life to honor and preserve the memory of our fighting men and women.

Hartline, along with Deborah Naugher with the Daughters of the American Revolution – recently appeared on the WEIS Radio Morning Show with Jerry Baker to discuss the new edition of that publication, and the need for help in obtaining information from those with loved ones who have served in the military – past or present.
