Inmate Charged with Child Molestation Attacked by Other Inmates

Three inmates at the Floyd County Jail face additional charges, after they allegedly attacked another inmate at the facility.

25 year old Alexander Lawrence Clayton, 29 year old Emerson Mack Abbott, Jr., and 22 year old Eric Jordan Hunter all face charges of Assault and Rioting in the wake of the incident.

Clayton was arrested on an outstanding warrant back on April 28th – Abbott has been in jail since February of last year (2015) after being arrested and charged in the shooting death of a couple in their home; and Hunter was arrested in April of 2015 for the murder of Nicholas Shropshire of Summerville.

The attack on the other inmate took place on May 19th.

According to the report, the assault left the victim, who had been jailed May 6th on a charge of Child Molestation and for Sexual Battery – suffering numerous fractures to the face, along with other injuries.

Clayton, Abbott and Hunter are now facing charges of felony aggravated assault, aggravated battery and rioting in a penal institution.
