Very little information has been released; however, it appears that an inmate at Hays State Prison in Chattooga County was stabbed Wednesday afternoon.

Reports indicate that the 32 year old victim was stabbed by another inmate around 4:00pm and was taken from the scene to an area hospital for treatment.  That victim was reportedly conscious at the time, but no other information has been made available, and it’s unclear at this point what led to the incident taking place.

Last month (January 2019) an inmate was killed at Hays; on January the 17th Marion Luke was attacked by another inmate.  He was taken to Medical and being treated by the medical staff and personnel but was pronounced dead by the prison physician prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Service responders to the prison.

Both events are under investigation by the Georgia Department of Corrections.
