Authorities say a suspect is in custody, following the shooting death of a 33 year old woman over the weekend in East Gadsden.
Thirty-three year old Amber Lee Gattis was found at an address on McCluney Street before 7:30 on Saturday evening, suffering a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and from there air-lifted to UAB – where she was later pronounced dead.
While no one has yet been officially charged, law enforcement officials say they expect this case will be ruled a homicide. The body of Gattis has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is on-going.
