Floyd County Police Chief Bill Shiflett said the investigation into the theft of items from the Floyd County Board of Education is continuing.
The FBI Corruption Unit of Atlanta is working on the case as the investigation has expanded into other jurisdictions. More arrests are expected but Shiflett said he didn’t know which part of the state those arrests would occur in.
A total of ten people, including former Floyd County Schools Maintenance Director Derry Richardson, were arrested in June and charged with theft by taking government property and racketeering.
The arrests were part of a lengthy investigation into the thefts of millions of dollars from the Floyd County Board of Education.
