A Jacksonville woman has been arrested in connection to chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Janey Lynn Beal, 35, of Jacksonville, is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

Beal and the baby both tested positive for amphetamine.  The Etowah County Department of Human Resources is involved with the case.

Beal is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment charge.  As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections upon release.
