James Robert “Bob” Wheeling, age 79 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, November 24th at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2:PM Friday, November 27th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Hawkins officiating, burial will follow in Weiss lake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:PM Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Jimmie Talley, Bryant Culberson, Jimmie Beard, Mike Owen, Tony Wilkerson, Josh Price.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Wynn, Bobby Connell, Billy Connell, Phillip Morgan, John Roy Covington, Hubert Wheeling, Ricky Wheeling.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Crisler Wheeling; son, Scott (Rose) Wheeling of Rome, GA; daughter, Donna (Ronnie) Light of Cedar Bluff; 5 grandchildren, Kayla (Christy) Light Morgan of Cedar Bluff, Krista (Bryant) Culberson of Piedmont, Marli (Josh) Price of Arab, Jordan Wheeling, Nicole (Mike) Owen; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Wheeling; grandson, Cory Drake Wheeling; great grandsons, Roman Drake Price, Elliot Ridge Morgan.

Mr. Wheeling was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late George Washington and Ruby Lee Early Wheeling, he was a shipping Coordinator at Inland, he was a member of the Cherokee County Sports Hall Of Fame since 2009 and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
