Jerry Wayne Vines

Jerry Wayne Vines, age 72 of Centre, passed away Friday, October 13th at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, October 16th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Max Tucker officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 PM Sunday, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Alex Bohannon, Kyle Davis, Brady Hill, Jamie Stone, Jack Jenkins, Aaron Couey, Seaborn Whatley, Marvin Clay.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Patty Vines; sons, Tim (Tricia) Vines of Canton, GA, Matt (Stacey) Vines of Centre; brothers, Robert (Lynn) Vines of Centre, Tommy Vines of Centre; sister, Linda (M.L.) McGatha of Centre; grandchildren, Torie, Kyle, Staci, Dalanie, Ethan, Elijah; great grandchildren, Daxton, Brynton, Brance; several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Vines was a native of Cherokee County and was the son of the late Joseph Delbert and Annie Sue Brashier Vines. He loved his Lord and was a tireless worker at his church, New Antioch, Shannon, especially during the years that they had a bus ministry. He lived most of his life in Shannon while he worked many years at Master Mat in Calhoun as a supervisor and also while he ran his own business, Rome Alignment, in Rome. In the last years, he and Ann have fulfilled a lifelong dream by living on Weiss Lake in Centre. He was an avid Hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors.
