John William “Jay” Gossett III, 18 of Cedar Bluff, AL passed away Monday, July 14, 2014.

Services will be held 11am Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, GA with Rev. Frank Bernat and Rev. Matt Parker officiating.

Graveside services will be held 3pm Central time at Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens in Gaylesville, Alabama. Jay was a member of Bethlehem First United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Beta Club and received state rings in track in 2008 and 2009 and lettered in track in 2012 and 2013 while attending high school.

He is survived by his parents, Jamie and John Gossett; brothers and sisters, Austin Gossett, Leslie Brynn Jones and Brianna Tippett; Grandparents, John Gossett, Wanda and Larry Pennington, Ron and Toni Griffith; Great Grandmother, Jacqueline Roach; Aunts and Uncles, Clinton and Stephanie Foster, Tommy and Beth Rampley and Michael Gerhard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5pm-8pm Tuesday evening.
