Kim Kardashian West Sues Website for Libel Over Robbery Story

Timothy White/E!(LOS ANGELES) — Kim Kardashian West has filed a libel lawsuit against a website that she says claimed she faked the well-publicized robbery in Paris last week.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star filed suit Tuesday in New York against MediaTakeOut.com. She states the site maliciously published several articles that falsely claimed she faked the robbery, lied about the attack, and “then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars.”

The lawsuit further claims that the defendants, which include MediaTakeOut.com owner Fred Mwangaguhunga, ignored her demand to publish a retraction and issue an apology.

Kardashian West is seeking unspecified damages.

The lawsuit states that Kardashian West was assaulted and robbed by two masked men who stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry from her at her rented apartment in Paris on October 3. The document states that the men placed a gun to her head, duct-taped her hands, legs and mouth, and left her lying on the bathroom floor during the robbery.
