Lamar Robinson

Lamar Robinson, age 70, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Lamar was born November 11 , 1944, in Floyd County a son of the late Hubert A. Robinson and Lura Keown Robinson. He was a member of Atlanta Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #72, he served 6 years in the Army. Lamar lived an exceptional life. He was an outdoorsman who loved duck hunting and many hunting trips with nephews and friends to Colorado. He has 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren that he loves with all his heart. Lamar was always there for whoever needed him regardless of the circumstances. He would always try to help anyone if he could. Lamar will truly be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Robinson Garrett.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years Renita Osburn Robinson, daughters, Bree Robinson, West Monroe, LA; Wendy (Richard) Chumbler, Cedar Bluff, Al; Lamara (Jim) Tierce, Clanton, Al; sisters Patricia (Ned) Beard, Linda (Donald) Watters,and Carlene Penny, grandchildren, Timothy Duran Spears, Taylor Rae Spears Gibbs, Blade Scott Handler, Hannah Tierce, and William Jackson Chumbler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday April 10, 2015, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with Buddy Bruce speaking. Shanklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion is conducting full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday April 9, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, Gene Watters, Wayne Penney, Bobby Garrett, Steve Penney, James Beard, Timothy Spears, Matthew Gibbs, Blade Handler and Cory Reece.

Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
