Large Crowd Gathers For 14th Annual Cherokee County Republican Party Celebration

A large group of members of the Cherokee County Republican Party gathered at the Chamber of Commerce banquet room at Gadsden State Cherokee on Monday evening for the organizations 14th annual celebration. Local chapter Chairman Josh Summerford remarked that this was one of the largest gatherings to date.

During the program District 10 State Senator Phil Williams real aloud a resolution from the Alabama State Senate honoring Cherokee County Probate Judge/Commission Chairman J. Kirk Day who passed away last week. That resolution was presented to Day’s mother and father, Barbara and Wayne and brother Keith.

Several candidates vying for local and state offices were also given the opportunity to speak to those in attendance about the the respective offices they were running for.

The keynote speaker for the night was Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall. Chairperson of the Alabama GOP, Terry Lathan was also in attendance.
