Latest Cherokee County COVID-19 Update From ADPH

The Alabama Department of Public Health information released Monday (October 5th) – the running total of confirmed cases  of COVID-19 stands at 159,713 – with the death toll from COVID climbing to a total of 2,559 since March 13th of this year.

Cherokee County has so far seen a total of 483 confirmed cases with another 159 being listed as “probable” and 12 deaths so far being attributed to the illness and one other listed as “probable” in that category. 

Of the local individuals undergoing diagnostic testing over the last 14 days a total of 77 came back positive

Daily updates are usually released around 10:00am; those are posted on the ADPH COVID-19 Data & Surveillance Dashboard on the right-hand side of this page.

Cherokee County EMA Director Shawn Rogers said that due to inaccuracies from ADPH, they will no longer be providing weekly updates as has been done in the past.
