According to information released Friday morning by Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver a Leesburg couple was arrested Monday (October 23rd) by Sheriff’s Office Investigators, then taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they were booked in on felony Child Abuse charges.

The suspects, 41 year old Anglia Darleen Morris and 55 year old Robin Scott Morris, are the parents of the victim.

According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, an allegation of severe neglect involving a child was made to the Alabama Department of Human Resources and a joint investigation was launched by the Sheriff’s Office and DHR which resulted in the arrests.

Bond was set at $30,000 each – with Robin Morris being released early Thursday afternoon after making bond; meanwhile, Anglia Morris remains lodged in the Detention Center. 

No additional information is being released at the time – the investigation into the matter is on-going.
