Leesburg Industrial Property Designated as Alabama AdvantageSite

The Town of Leesburg’s 28 acre industrial park has recently been named an AdvantageSite, a designation that means a great deal in terms of future economic development for the area

Community leaders both locally and from across the state gathered at the FEMA Building in Leesburg for the official presentation ceremony with Representative Richard Lindsey being the one to hit the proverbial “nail on the head” when he compared “readiness” to today’s on line shopping:

Leesburg Mayor Brandy Pierce expressed great pride in the industrial park being chosen as an Alabama AdvantageSite, and deservedly so because a great deal of time, effort and vision has gone into earning that designation; that application process, which was managed by the Cherokee County Industrial Development Authority took more than a year to complete; this is the first time that a site in Cherokee County has received this designation – at the present time there are only 55 other active AdvantageSite locations in the entire state of Alabama.

The Cherokee County Industrial Development Authority and the Town of Leesburg are now in the process of actively recruiting prospects for the site.
