A one-vehicle accident on County Road 7 in front of Sawyer’s Nursery shortly after 8:00pm Tuesday left a number of area residents without power for a short time.
Emergency personnel and Cherokee Electric Co op crews were dispatched to the location in Leesburg after the driver apparently lost control of their vehicle and took out a power pole. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, luckily, the 17 year old driver of the Nissan involved in that wreck managed to escape injury.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
