Let's Do the Time Warp Again: "Rocky Horror" Returns Thursday Night on Fox

Steve Wilkie – Fox(LOS ANGELES) — We’ve been doing the Time Warp” for 40 years, but heck…let’s do it again.

Thursday night, Fox presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show — Let’s Do the Time Warp Again, a reboot of the 1976 cult film that put Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick on the map, and featured daring depictions of bisexuality, cross-dressing, cannibalism and more.

The movie’s star is Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite alien mad scientist who creates Rocky, a hunky blond, as his sex slave. When innocent couple Brad and Janet arrive at Frank’s mansion, they enter a hedonistic world where sexual hijinks, partner-swapping and murder are on the menu.

Tim Curry played Frank in the original, but in the reboot, he’s the narrator. Orange Is the New Black star, transgender actress Laverne Cox portrays Frank in the Fox production.

“The film is epic,” Cox raves to ABC Radio. “The set design, the costumes, the way we tell the story, the cast — it’s so epic and so special and it really is an homage to the fans…who’ve made Rocky Horror the longest running film in movie history.”

The cast also includes Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCartan as Brad, and Reeve Carney,Christina Milian and Annaleigh Ashford as Frank’s servants.  Ben Vereen portrays Dr. Scott andAdam Lambert plays Eddie, Dr. Scott’s lobotomized nephew.

Rock legend Meat Loaf — Eddie in the original — isn’t sure why the movie still captivates.

“I can’t explain it,” he tells ABC Radio. “The only thing that I can explain about Rocky Horror is there’s a line in it and it says, ‘Don’t dream it; be it.’ … If you want something, go and work for it!”

The Rocky Horror Picture Show — Let’s Do the Time Warp Again airs October 20 at 8 p.m. ET
