Gadsden State Community College’s Fine Arts Department presents its spring art exhibition “A Celebration of Nature” by self-taught artist and musician Tom Dameron. 

The artist will open the exhibition with a lecture to art students at 2:30 p.m. March 6. The show is in the Pierce Cain Learning Resource Center Art Gallery at the Ayers Campus through May 1. 

After practicing for 50 years as a pharmacist, Dameron decided to become a full-time artist and musician. His artwork consists of a variety of mediums including pencil, watercolor, etchings, serigraphy, acrylics and stained glass. The focus of his work is the celebration of people and nature.

In addition to his art, Dameron plays tuba in an eclectic trio known as The Old Fashioned Rhythm Method and is a member of another group known as The Anything Goes Trio. Both musical groups play traditional New Orleans jazz and tunes from the 1920s.
