Floyd County authorities say they still have not determined the whereabouts of a man after the home he was living in was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to 1506 Lyons Bridge Road after a worker called 9-1-1 to report the residence was on fire and was already on the ground.  The first unit on the scene confirmed that the structure was destroyed with only a few hot spots that needed to be put out.

When the fire was called in, there were concerns that Ed Keon may have still been inside.

However at this point (Wednesday afternoon), there are still no definitive answers.  County Coroner Gene Proctor said a GBI forensics team will be visiting the site, possibly as early as Wednesday evening, adding that cadaver dogs will also be called in.

Proctor says “At this point, it is still being considered a missing person case,”
