Longtime Chaplain at Floyd Medical Center Arrested on Public Indecency Charges in Summerville

The longtime chaplain at Floyd Medical Center was arrested this week in Chattooga County on public indecency charges after a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly caught him and a sixteen-year-old boy engaged in a sexual act on Lake View Circle in Summerville.

The deputy came upon a van parked in the middle of the roadway and found fifty-five-year-old Jack Poole Foley getting out of the van while zipping his pants.  According to Sheriff Mark Schrader Foley, and the teen were both arrested, however the teen is being charged through the juvenile court system and his name has not been released.

The age of consent in Georgia is sixteen-years-old

Foley admitted to the deputy that he and the teen had engaged in a sexual act.  The two were strangers and had met on the internet and agreed to meet in person.

Foley was charged with indecent exposure.

Floyd Medical Center said as of Tuesday Foley was no longer an employee of the hospital.
