Longtime County Commission Clerk Freda Kelsey Retires After 27 Years Of Dedicated Service

Cherokee County Accounts Receivable Clerk Freda Kelsey has made the decision to retire following 27 years of service to the county. A retirement reception was held recently at the county administration building where co-workers, family, friends and numerous elected and municipal officials from all across Cherokee County gathered to share the special moment.

Cherokee County Commission Chairman/Probate Judge Tim Burgess shared a few words about Kelsey

Freda thanked each and every person for attending the reception and said that she will miss each one dearly. During her retirement, Kelsey and her husband John hope to be able to spend more time with their children and grandchildren.

Judge Burgess ended by saying that Frieda has more than earned her right to retire and enjoy the simpler things in life and that she will be sorely missed.

Those that know Freda personally know that she is a big Alabama fan, to close out her reception she was surprised with a surprise visit from one of the most notable Alabama fans of all time – Alabama Crimson Tide mascot ‘Big Al’.

All of us here at WEIS Radio wish Freda a happy retirement and the best of luck in her future endeavors!
