Lynn Rochester Seeking Re-Election to Cherokee County Board of Education Place I

Lynn Rochester 3Two-term incumbent Lynn Rochester, recently announced her candidacy for re-election, to the Cherokee County Board of Education, Place One. Rochester has completed 344 hours of continuing education and as such, has attained the level of “Master Boardsman” making her the only current Board of Education member to have done so; she also serves as the Leader to Leader representative for the board, acting as liaison officer with the State Legislature.

During her eleven year tenure as a school board member, Mrs. Rochester has helped secure funding for numerous capital improvement projects at each of the county’s schools; she has also been instrumental in securing funding for the summer lunch program, school tutoring program and more.

She has also served as chairman of the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Board, for the past eight years.

Mrs. Rochester told WEIS Radio News, she has chosen to seek another term on the Board of Education in order to see several projects completed and to continue to move the Cherokee County School System forward in a positive manner.
