UPDATED| Male Subject Injured After Falling From A Barn Roof On Saturday, Hunter Rescued From A Tree Stand On Sunday Morning

Cherokee County Rescue Squad personnel and Sand Rock Firefighters were called to a residence on County Road 70 near Cherokee Rock Village early Sunday morning after a call reporting a hunter hanging approximately 25ft from a tree stand. That call came in at approximately 6:15 with Cherokee EMS also responding.

According to reports it appears that the tree stand broke causing the hunter to fall with one of the straps catching him by the ankle, he was suspended upside down for approximately two hours before he was found. Fortunately the victim was able to walk away without injuries after rescue personnel, firefighters and paramedics freed him.

On Saturday afternoon, a 39 year old male subject was injured after he fell approximately 10-15 feet from the roof of a barn at a location in the Alexis Community on County Road 22. According to reports the victim was taken to the hospital after suffering head and back injuries. First Responders were called to the scene just before 3:30.

According to McCords Fire Department Chief Rich Lindsey, the victim was taken to the hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries. Chief Lindsey said that in addition to his department, Cherokee EMS also responded to the scene.
