The Etowah County Drug Enforcement has arrested a Rainbow City man for the possession of salvia.
Unit Interim Commander Randall Johnson, stated that 21 year old Joseph Boone, was taken into custody, after Rainbow City Police were dispatched to Black Creek Apartments, located on Sutton Bridge Road.
Witnesses said Boone was “threatening to hurt or kill people.”
When officers went to Boone’s apartment, they saw an open shoe box on a kitchen table – in plain view – with a large amount of spice inside.
Boone was not found in his apartment and he had apparently left before officers arrived.
Agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit were notified and helped officers in their search for Boone. Boone was arrested when he came back to his apartment.
He remains at the Etowah County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond.
