27 year old Justin Blake Martinat is being held in an east Alabama jail – awaiting extradition back to Georgia on a charge of murder in connection with a shooting that occurred over the weekend.

According to reports at around 1:15 Saturday morning deputies were dispatched to a home on Sylvania Circle in Calhoun in response to a report of shots fired.  They arrived to find the victim, whose name has not yet been released, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.  Authorities say a number of shots were fired and other individuals were assaulted. Detectives and investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses. Martinat fled the scene in an automobile, and was apprehended by law enforcement officials several hours later, at approximately 9:45, in eastern Alabama.

No additional information is being released at this time.
