On Friday Floyd County Police Officers were dispatched to reports of an unresponsive child at a Dodd Boulevard address. According to reports, the two year old and a five year old had been left in the care of 38 year old Hassan Rashad – with an investigation revealing that the two year old had suffered multiple internal injuries and died as a result of those injuries.
The act was reportedly committed in the presence of the five year old.
Furthermore, as a result of that investigation, Rashad was placed under arrest and charged with felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and with two counts of Cruelty to Children 1st Degree.
He remains in jail.
