Man Charged with Setting Cousin’s Transfer Truck on Fire

TonyCrabtreeA Summerville, Georgia man was jailed over the weekend for allegedly setting his cousin’s transfer truck on fire.

According to arrest warrants from Floyd County, 27 year old Darrell Crabtree intentionally set fire to the truck, which was on cousin’s property, on May 3rd; Crabtree was arrested for the crime less than three hours following the incident about two miles north of the location

When questioned about the fire, he told investigators that he was walking to his home from Cherokee Drive in Cedar Bluff with another person; when questioned, the other man stated he hadn’t see Crabtree for more than a month.

Investigators soon learned that Crabtree had at one point worked for his cousin and he was fired several months ago.

He was arrested Saturday morning on charges of Arson 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass, and remains in the Floyd County Jail where he is being held without bond.
