felonA man accused of stealing a gun belonging to the Floyd County Police Department is now in the Floyd County Jail, facing a number of felony charges.

According to jail reports, 19-year old Cody Shon Reeves of a Kingston Highway address went on to the property of another person on Cinnamon Lane, entered two vehicles and took a carton of cigarettes and a Glock .40, which was the property of the county police department.

He also allegedly entered a vehicle on Freeman Ferry Road, taking a gold necklace with pendant, which he later pawned.

As Reeves was being detained by police on Sunday, he made two aggressive movements toward the Glock, which was in his waistband, concealed by his shirt.

He was also found in possession of two stolen packs of cigarettes, two stolen 20-dollar bills and a glass smoking device with residue on it.

Reeves is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, entering an automobile and theft by taking.

He is also charged with possession of a concealed weapon without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, criminal trespass, possession of drug related objects and possession of methamphetamine.

As you may remember, Reeves was arrested late last year after he allegedly entered automobiles in the Model area back in October.
