An Anniston man is now in federal custody after allegedly attempting to hire a hit man to kill his neighbor.
29 year old Allen Wayne Morgan was taken into custody by FBI Agents – at the Econo Lodge in Oxford around 3:30 Sunday Afternoon.
FBI spokesperson Paul Daymond, said Morgan has been charged with Murder for Hire, and he is also under investigation for possible hate crimes.
Morgan – an Iraq veteran – thought he was hiring the KKK to kill his neighbor, Clifford Maurice Mosley; Morgan spelled out in graphic detail how he wanted the man killed.
Morgan reportedly suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder – a condition which has triggered suicidal thoughts and substance abuse; that – according to an interview conducted by the website al.com with Morgan in 2012.
According to court documents, Morgan believed Mosley had raped his wife days earlier. Mosley had been convicted of second degree sexual assault back in 2009, however the victim in that case was not Morgan’s wife; Mosley is not currently charged with any crime.
After being placed under arrest by FBI Agents Sunday – Morgan confessed to attempting to have Mosley killed.
