Man Jailed Following High Speed Chase with Leesburg Investigator Jamie Chatman

A 45 year old Ft Payne man is currently residing in the Cherokee County Detention Center; that, after being involved in a high-speed chase with Leesburg Investigator Jamie Chatman, in addition to other law enforcement officials.

According to Chatman, the chase began just after midnight on Highway 273 – continuing to County Road 47 then up Starling Gap to County Road 43 into DeKalb County and from there on into Dogtown.  The driver, who was later identified as Jonathan David Henderson, finally came to a stop, after his vehicle hit spike strips deployed by Ft Payne Police on County Road 43 at Dogtown Road.

Henderson resisted arrest while being taken into custody on a long list of charges including warrants through DeKalb County.

He was booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center at 1:45 Friday morning charged with Attempting to Elude, DUI, Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road, Speeding, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Failure to Signal, Switched Tag, Improper Lane Usage, Improper Lights, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Failure and/or Refusal to Display Insurance, Resisting Arrest, Expired License – and a Violation of the Littering Law.
