Mrs. McPeak was born in Gadsden, was the daughter of the late, Thomas J. and Margie Henderson James, was a social worker and of the Episcopal faith. Marjory grew up in Alabama and Florida.

She attended Rollins College, Winter Park, FL from 1948 to 1950. There she met David H. Larsen and they married on 5-30-1950 in the Chapel at Rollins College. Then, moved to The Dalles, Oregon, where David was from.  After to The Dalles she had several jobs. She was a spotter for foreign airplanes, which might threaten the US, worked for the USDA to plot farms, worked at Adams Paint Store, etc. For several years she had an interior decorating business named Vogue Interiors. She had an eye for color and enjoyed this work along with sewing, designing costumes, etc. With two kids still at home she went back to Portland State University and completed her degree in Social Work with a minor in history. Following her graduation, in 1972, she began working for the State of Oregon Adult and Family Services, as a Volunteer Coordinator, in The Dalles, OR. She eventually took a promotion and moved to Hillsboro, in 1977, and became a Case Manager. At the time of her retirement she had 200 elderly patients in her case load.

On October 30, 1981 she married Earl McPeak at the Old St Paul’s Episcopal Church, The Dalles. This church had a lot of meaning to her. She wanted to be married there even though she still lived in Hillsboro. After retirement, in 1991, they moved to LaConner, WA where they enjoyed boating around the San Juan Islands. In February, 2017 she and Earl moved to Centre, AL to be with her daughter, Holli Larsen.

Marjory loved to boat, camp, work in the yard and invite people into her home for any occasion she could think of. She especially loved to have family visit. Her heart was in volunteerism. Especially, mentoring young people, in general, and in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She was a very positive person, an inspiration to those who knew her and had a smile for everyone. She loved to laugh with those who called her friend. Marjory loved the USA and was a true patriot.
