Marta Dale McElrath Hamilton Borders, age 84 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Friday, March 1st at Cherokee County Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be 2: PM Tuesday, March 5th at Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ben James officiating; burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2: PM Tuesday, at the church.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Hamilton of Cedar Bluff, Richard (Noemi) Hamilton of Jackson, MS; daughter, Denise Hamilton of Birmingham; brothers, Wayne (Faye) McElrath of Guntersville and Herman (Linda) McElrath of Albertville; The joy of her life… grandchildren, Joshua (Britteny) Hamilton of Huntsville, Jordan Hamilton of Brooklyn, NY, Christina Hamilton of Knoxville, TN, Rebekah (Joshua) Whitener of Cambridge, MA, Jennifer Hust Berglund of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren, Luke and Ben Hamilton both of Huntsville.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Joe Hamilton and Sam Borders.
Mrs. Borders was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Richard Covington and Eula Mae McHugh McElrath, was a school teacher and was a member of Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
