Mary Ruth Ray age 86 of Centre passed away Monday May 20, 2019, at her residence.

Funeral services will be 3: PM Wednesday May 22nd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Burgess and Rev. Wayne Fain officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5: – 8: PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are: Casey Young, Keith Tolbert, Jim Garmany, Rhett Walker, Ryan Law, Ty Hunt, Brian Snead, and Evan Morgan.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Cherokee County High School AG. Department 910 Warrior Drive, Centre, AL 35960

Mrs. Ray is survived by her grandson: Skylar Ray of Centre, great grandchildren: Libby Ray and Ryan Ray sister: Alva Nell Givens of Centre, sister in-laws: Shirley May of Decatur, Joan May of Cartersville, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Harold G. Ray, son Ricky Ray, brothers: Harry May, and H.L. May Jr.

Mrs. Ray was a native of Cherokee County, and the daughter of the late Herman G. and Doris Cahoon May.

Mary and her husband Harold Gene operated and owned Ray’s Greenhouse and Ray’s Meat Market until their retirement. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
