Matchups for 2020 Cherokee Basketball Invitational set

GAYLESVILLE – The schedule for the 2020 Cherokee Basketball Invitational has been set. The tournament, hosted this year by Gaylesville, begins Dec. 19 and continues Dec. 21-22. It features all five Cherokee County teams plus Collinsville boys and girls, Chattooga boys and girls, Handley girls and Springville girls.

Seven games are slated for each day, which will be played in Gaylesville’s old and new gyms.

The slate for Saturday, Dec. 19 includes Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff’s girls at 3 p.m. in the old gym. Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff’s boys play at 4:30 p.m. in the old gym, along with Spring Garden and Springville girls in the new gym at the same time. The 6 p.m. games are Sand Rock and Collinsville girls in the old gym and Handley-Cherokee County girls in the new gym. The day’s action concludes with Sand Rock-Collinsville boys in the old gym and Spring Garden-Cherokee County boys at 7:30 p.m.

The action picks back up on Monday, Dec. 21, beginning with Chattooga-Gaylesville girls at 3 p.m. in the new gym. The 4:30 p.m. games are Springville-Handley girls in the old gym and Chattooga-Spring Garden boys in the new gym. Collinsville and Gaylesville’s boys (old gym) and Cherokee County-Sand Rock girls (new gym) are the 6 p.m. contests. Collinsville and Spring Garden’s girls (old gym) and Cherokee County-Sand Rock boys (new gym) cap off the Dec. 21 action at 7:30 p.m.

The invitational’s final day on Tuesday, Dec. 22 begins with Cherokee County and Springville girls at 3 p.m. in the new gym. Spring Garden and Chattooga girls (old gym) and Cherokee County-Collinsville boys (new gym) are the 4:30 p.m. games. Cedar Bluff and Chattooga boys (old gym) and Handley-Sand Rock girls (new gym) are the 6 p.m. games. The final two games are Cedar Bluff-Collinsville girls (old gym) and Sand Rock-Spring Garden boys (new gym) at 7:30 p.m.
