McCartney Construction Announced As Apparent Low Bidder For The 411 Paving Project

The Alabama Department of Transportation opened bids Friday for the Rebuild Alabama project to construct a four-lane U.S. 411 from Turkeytown in Etowah County to west of County Road 20, west of Leesburg in Cherokee County.

Of six bidders, contractor McCartney Construction submitted the apparent low bid of $34,250,648 for the project.

The nearly 6-mile project includes grading, drainage, base and paving on a new alignment.

The project will complete the four-lane corridor from the county seat at Centre to Interstate 759 and Interstate 59 in Gadsden, providing Cherokee County with its first four-lane connection to an interstate highway.

Construction is pending bid review and award of the contract.
