Saturday will see one of north Alabama’s largest community gatherings honoring veterans and the military as the McCord’s Crossroads community presents an annual day-long event filled with family fun and something for everyone, starting early that morning.
The parade lineup starts at 9:30 at the McCord’s Fire Hall #2 on County Road 157, with the official opening ceremonies set for 10:30.
Friday morning, WEIS Radio played host to some of those involved in that event, including event organizers Judy Hopper and Edna Jennings of the McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers Club, American Legion Vice-Commander & author David Hartline along with Keith Baldwin of American Auctioneers.
Local veterans Doyle and Lloyd Kerr will be the Grand Marshalls for the parade.
Proceeds from Saturday’s event will go to benefit the McCord’s Crossroads community.
