McCords Crossroads Homemakers Club Members Discuss Saturday’s 7th Annual Community Day Celebration

The big 7th annual May Community Day Celebration honoring ALL Veterans Past & Present will be held this Saturday (May 25th) – that event is sponsored by the McCords Crossroads Homemakers Club and American Auctioneers.  Visiting WEIS Radio Morning Show Host Jerry Baker Thursday were both the President and Vice-President of the Homemakers Club, Karen Bobo and Florence Nevins, who told us a bit about what’s in store that day:

That parade will include cars, trucks, tractors – you name it.  This annual parade has grown to be one of the areas biggest and best over the years.

The Patriotic Program will begin immediately following the parade and will feature several guest speakers – there will also be plaques awarded, in recognition of a number of veterans and live entertainment will be provided by the singing group GI Jive – out of Rome, Georgia.

Lunch will be served afterwards at $6.00 per plate and ALL veterans will be served FREE of charge.  Food will be served in the new McCords Homemakers Club Building:

All proceeds from that event will go to the Hopewell Community Center.
