The celebration of his life began with a memorial attended by current and former students and faculty, as well as many community members. During the service, many stories were shared as well as a slide and video show.

Through this tragedy many have witnessed the impact that Mr. Burrell had on the school community.

Barnett said he hopes the community can use this to remind us of the impact that our lives can have on the people around us and lead our lives accordingly.

The care and compassion witnessed through this tragedy has been phenomenal, and Barnett says he is thankful for a faculty, student body and community who can come together during difficult times.

Counselors will remain on campus in the upcoming days for both students and faculty members who may need to share their thoughts and discuss their feelings.
