Mike Rogers Speaks Out on Supreme Court’s Decision to Strike Down Louisiana Abortion law

(Washington, D.C.) Congressman Mike Rogers made the following statement after Supreme Court of the United States struck down Louisiana’s abortion law.

“I am very disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision to strike down the Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. This commonsense law sought to protect the health and safety of women and their unborn babies.  This reckless decision is just further evidence of activist judges pursuing their political agenda.

“Our fight to protect the rights of unborn children is and will be a long one. I will never give up on this effort until all of God’s precious children, both born and unborn, are protected,” Rogers said.

Rogers is a staunch defender of the right to life in Congress and joined over 200 Members of Congress in filing an amicus brief in support of Louisiana’s pro-life law led by Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Congressman Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Rogers serves as Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security and a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
