Additional information has been released regarding a woman reported missing during race weekend at Talladega; the Lincoln Police Department has issued a news release stating that they feel confident that the body of the woman found November 22nd in the Jackson Shoals area of Choccolocco Creek is indeed that of Theresa Andrews Benn – reported missing back on October 19th.

Even though final DNA results are still pending – investigators say they feel sure the results will confirm their conclusion; they went on to say that preliminary reports indicate that her death will be considered a case of homicide, however no additional information is going to be released at this time.

An active homicide investigation has been launched, and anyone with any information that may offer insight into Benn’s actions in the days leading up to her disappearance – is urged to contact the Lincoln Police Department at (205) 763-4070.

Authorities had originally said that foul play was not suspected in regard to the 42 year old woman’s disappearance and even though they are now calling it a homicide police have yet to give any indication as to how she may have been killed.
