Homicide Suspect and Missing Woman Found in Rome / UPDATE

Stevie Lamar Garner has been arrested for the March 14th murder of Patrick Marcus Wall.

The arrest came after members of the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force developed information as to Garner’s whereabouts.

Members of the Fugitive Task Force – along with members of the Floyd County Sheriff`s Office Warrant Division, Floyd County Police Department Criminal Investigators and Floyd County Police Uniform Patrol Officers conducted a search at a home in Silver Creek – where Garner was located.

Garner was arrested without further incident and was booked into Floyd County Jail on the charge of Murder.

With the arrest of Garner, officers were also able to locate Barbara Maegan Witt, who had been reported missing on March 17th.

According to Floyd County Police, Barbara “Meagan” Witt has been reported missing by her family and is believed to be in the company of murder suspect Stevie Garner.

The family says their last contact with Witt was by text, on March 14th at 11:50am – adding that they fear for her safety.

Witt is described as being five-four (5’4”) weighing 114 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. A photo has been posted on our website at weisradio.com

On March 14th, just before 7:00pm, Floyd County Police and members of the Georgia State Patrol were dispatched to a Drummond Drive address – in regard to a report of an accident with injuries.

First responders discovered that the driver of the vehicle, 21 year old Patrick Marcus Wall, had been shot. Authorities issued a murder warrant for Garner shortly thereafter and have been looking for him since that night.
