More than 16,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Thus Far; More than 9,000 Presumed Recoveries According to ADPH

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Alabama is approaching 600 – as of Friday morning, the ADPH COVID-19 Data & Surveillance Dashboard is listing a total of 591 people has having died as a result of the virus; while – on the other side – the number of presumed recoveries has now topped 9,000 – currently standing at 9,355. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state, as reported by the Alabama Department of Public Health – was listed early Friday as 16,530 with 1,778 hospitalizations since March 13th.

The ADPH lists Cherokee County as having had 34 confirmed cases thus far; DeKalb County, 241; Etowah, 244; and Calhoun, 152.
