Motorcyclist Collides with Passenger Car on Highway 101 in Floyd County

A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a passenger car on Highway 101 on Thursday in Floyd County (Georgia).

According to PFC Ricky Mills with the Rome PD the accident took place near the entrance to the Saddle Mountain subdivision when the passenger car driven by 28 year old Silver Creek resident Vicki McGowen attempted to turn into the subdivision and the bike rider also from Silver Creek, 21 year old Evan Purdy, tried to go around her on the outside.

Unfortunately the two vehicles collided resulting in Purdy being transported to the hospital via Floyd EMS.

That accident, which took place around 12:00 noon, remains under investigation.
